Telehealth Medical-Surgical Allows Leaners to Practice Clinical Judgement Skills

DENVER, CO | November 6, 2020 | – Sentinel U™, a provider of screen-based simulation education technology solutions for nursing schools, hospital systems and healthcare professionals, today announced its new Telehealth Medical-Surgical virtual clinical is available for learners. The Telehealth virtual clinical series allows learners to practice clinical judgment and communication skills to assess, monitor, and evaluate the care of patients remotely.

Our Medical-Surgical virtual clinical is the first product to launch within the Telehealth Series. The Telehealth Series will also include Pediatrics, Maternal/OB and Mental/Behavior Health.  Telehealth Medical-Surgical allows learners to meet three patients ranging from 46 to 74 years of age that exhibit symptoms of chronic heart failure, hypertension, COPD, type 2 diabetes, and more. Within this screen-based virtual clinical, learners interpret alerts to provide long-distance clinical care and professional health education using electronic data and telecommunications technology.

“Telehealth has become increasingly important in 2020 with so many people being asked to stay at home and social distance,” said Jeffrey Caplan, president of Sentinel U. “With the demand for telehealth on the rise, this virtual clinical gives nurses the opportunity to practice skills necessary for telehealth in a no-risk simulation environment.”

Telehealth Medical-Surgical comes with an instructor guide, feedback and rationales, a dashboard with evaluative report, and a learner dashboard. It aligns with NCLEX categories, QSEN Competencies, and AACN BSN, MSN, and DNP Essentials. Telehealth Medical Surgical is available for individual license or included in subscription pricing. Subscription rate pricing includes unlimited access to all Sentinel U virtual clinicals.
