Population Community Health/Sentinel City® Virtual Simulation Study Findings

Presented by Sentinel U™ and Dr. Andrea Chircop PhD, RN Dalhousie University.

Are you looking for a way to enhance your nursing course, curriculum or clinical training program? Join us for a webinar with special guest Dr. Andrea Chircop, Dalhousie University who will present their research findings on our Population/Community Health virtual clinical simulation, Sentinel City®. During this webinar Dr. Chircop will present the study results, comparing the use of Sentinel City® virtual simulation placements to conventional, community-based clinical placement experiences with student learning outcomes.

The Sentinel City and Sentinel Town virtual clinicals will also be demonstrated during this webinar. Sentinel City, our flagship innovation, is an engaging and rewarding way to learn what community and population health nursing is all about. Students practice critical thinking, observation and care planning in a risk-free environment. Sentinel City now includes 30 assignments and our Family Support and Home Assessment virtual clinical scenario.

This realistic virtual clinical is designed specifically for healthcare leaders, practicing nurses, and nursing students who are sharpening their communication, leadership and collaboration skills.

After evaluating and identifying the patient’s needs, the learner will select five interprofessional team members, based on their scope of practice, to further manage and evaluate the patient. Next, the learner will observe the group collaboration process, recognize challenges and barriers within the team, and guide the conversation by making decisions that result in positive impact on the team and, ultimately, patient-centered care.
