Prioritization of Care® Geriatrics
Prioritization of Care® Geriatrics
Geriatrics Virtual Clinical
Part of the Prioritization of Care® Specialty Series, this virtual clinical presents the learner with a variety of geriatrics patients. Geriatric patients who are experiencing acute episodes or complications should receive in the inpatient geriatric unit. Geriatric patients who are not experiencing a life-threatening condition but require follow-up after care setting should receive ongoing care in their home from a home health nurse. The learner must use clinical judgment skills to choose if the care should be managed in the inpatient geriatric care unit or home health care. Then the learners prioritize the order in which the five patients should receive care and implement individualized nursing interventions. This virtual clinical fosters critical thinking and builds confidence for students and practicing nurses in a clinical setting.
This clinical includes a variety of patient conditions such as terminal metastatic cancer, pancreatitis, transient ischemic attack, abdominoperineal resection & colostomy and seizure.
